In addition to the Particle filter found in the standard model above, this Smokestop version has a full 2lb of activated charcoal to deal effectively with tobacco smoke and other VOC'c ( volatile Organic Compounds). If you have a smoker in the home, or suffer from chemical sensitivities then this is the unit to go for. The highest in class CADR ( Clean Air Delivery Rate ) rating means that your air will effectively be cleaned around 3 times more often than comparable units.

How it works
Air is drawn into the unit via an ultra-quiet fan. Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are charged to ensure that they adhere effortlessly to Blueair’s progressive three-stage filter. The Blueair 203 SmokeStop unit is the ideal choice for allergy sufferers and other health-conscious individuals that need high-efficiency particle removal plus gas and odour control. The SmokeStop filter is a progressive carbon filter with a honeycomb-type structure that improves airflow and has hundreds of odor and gas absorbing carbon pellets. The filter contains 2.0 lbs of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI). The carbon eliminates volatile organic compounds (VOC), which are responsible for odors. The SmokeStop filter is recommended for use in rooms where heavy gaseous pollutants such as cigarette and cigar smoke or other VOC's are present.
