Although this unit is designed to clear the air in mid-sized rooms, there’s nothing middle of the road about the Blueair 403 Smokestop. Ingeniously designed and brilliantly engineered, the Blueair 403 Smokestop is based on the absolute original Blueair air purifier first tested at the prestigious Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm over a decade ago.

The Blueair 403 Smokestop continues to deliver outstanding performance that has withstood the test of time. Using patented HEPASilent™ technology, it captures 99.97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles on level one, including allergy-provoking pollen grains, dust mites, mold spores and pet dander particles.

This unit has the same class leading air purification performance as the standard 403 model, but also comes with almost a kilo of activated carbon in the filter to give maximum smoke , odour and VOC removal in rooms up to 365 Square Feet ( 34 Square Metres ). HepaSilent™ Technology ensures near silent running on low speed whilst the high CADR ( Clean Air Delivery Rate ) ensures at least 5 complate air changes an hour in this room size. Technology

How it works
Air is drawn into the unit via an ultra-quiet fan. Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are charged to ensure that they adhere effortlessly to Blueair’s progressive three-stage filter. The Blueair 403 SmokeStop unit is the ideal choice for allergy sufferers and other health-conscious individuals that need high-efficiency particle removal plus gas and odour control. The SmokeStop filter is a progressive carbon filter with a honeycomb-type structure that improves airflow and has hundreds of odor and gas absorbing carbon pellets. The filter contains 2.0 lbs of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI). The carbon eliminates volatile organic compounds (VOC), which are responsible for odors. The SmokeStop filter is recommended for use in rooms where heavy gaseous pollutants such as cigarette and cigar smoke or other VOC's are present.
