Why Detox?

Put most simply, detoxing involves giving your body a break from anything toxic, so that the body can work these toxins out of your system. The outcome of a successful and well-planned detox is that you will be likely to experience

Short Term (0-6 months)

These toxins could invade the body from a variety of sources including the environment, foods, drinks, stressful lifestyle (for instance alcohol, tobacco, pesticides, heavy metals, food additives, oral contraceptives, and drugs).

Detoxing works because it gives your body a break from the toxic excesses that modern life creates. By removing the body's necessity to burn energy digesting heavy, sugar and fat-laden meals and snacks that are difficult to digest and metabolise, and which play havoc with blood sugar, your energy is released to cleanse and regenerate your body's tissues and vital organs.

Side-effects of Detoxing

Your body cleans itself 24/7 taking harmful toxins into the liver and other organs. These elimination organs process the toxins, render them harmless and flush them out in the urine.

However, as most humans think they can eat everything which doesn't immediately kill them, they tend to put more in than the body can take out. the body has to store these toxins in the organs and fat cells. When you then reduce the amount of toxins going in, your body takes advantage of this and releases the stored toxins to allow them to be processed, rendered harmless and flushed from your body.

As the toxins are released, they can give out one last cry. It is like your body "tastes" the addictive toxin and wants more. As that moment, you may feel cravings or any of the detox side effects listed below.

Usually after the third day, the side effects ease off, and you have a smoother ride from then on.

When you start to detox, you may notice several physical symptoms such as those listed below. At the same time you will feel increased energy, alertness and stamina.
